Mr Ng is founder and Executive Chairman of New Asia Assets Pte. Ltd, an investment company with its head quarters in Asia that is focused on investments in Greater China. Mr Ng has been investing in Asia for over 20 years and in China since 1996. While being equipped a wealth of experience spanning across a range of industry sectors, Mr Ng also has particular expertise in the energy, water and clean technology fields. Mr Ng has founded and managed a number of China focused funds, including China Growth Opportunities Limited, a £50 million UK listed fund that focuses on private equity investment in China. Mr Ng is also an independent director of Asia Power Corporation Limited, a company listed on the main board of the Singapore Stock Exchange. Mr Ng is a former Principal with KPMG Singapore and holds B.Sc (Econs) and M.Sc (Econs) from London University. In 1992, Mr Ng was awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal, Singapore - Community Services) for his social contributions by the President of the Republic of Singapore.
Chang Houchun Executive Director & CEO Mr Chang was appointed as an Executive Director of our Company on 22 February 2005 and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Group on 1 April 2005. Mr. Chang has more than twenty years of experience in the boiler industry and was a founder of Guangzhou Devotion Thermal & Technology Co., Ltd (“GDTT”). Mr. Chang started his career as a lecturer in Ningxia University and subsequently as an associate professor in Xi’an University of Science & Technology. He founded Guangzhou Devotion Group in 1993, and was responsible for the overall management and operation of the Company. He was the Chairman and General Manager of GDTT from 2000 to 2005. He was also the founding chairman of GDD when GDD was formed in 2000. Mr Chang currently is a non-executive Chairman of GDTT. Mr. Chang graduated from Xi’an University of Science & Technology with a bachelor degree in Mining Engineering in 1985. He received his master degree in Business Economics from China Academy of Social Sciences in 1998. Mr. Chang was awarded the honor of Top Ten Outstanding Youth of Guangzhou in 2001. And in 2003, Mr. Chang was appointed as a deputy to the 10th National People’s Congress of China. Mr. Chang was also awarded the 2005 “National Model Worker” of China.
Li Zuqin Executive Director & COO Mr. Li was appointed as our Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer on 22 January 2009. With over 10 years experience in the boiler industry, Mr. Li is responsible for overseeing the Group’s daily operations, focusing on manufacturing, marketing and human resource & administrative management. Mr. Li was one of the founders of Guangzhou Devotion Thermal & Technology Co., Ltd (“GDTT”) and our Group. He was employed as Executive Director of the Company from January 2003 to March 2005 and chairman of one of our major subsidiary from April 2005 to January 2009. Prior to setting up GDTT with the other founders, Mr. Li worked with Xi-an Technological University as a lecturer from June 1986 to December 1992. Mr. Li graduated from Xi-an Technological university with a degree in Engineering in 1986. Mr. Li also obtained an EMBA from Zhong Ao Management Institute in Hong Kong in 2001.
Sha Guangwen Non-Executive Director Mr. Sha was appointed as our Non-Executive Director on 15 October 2002. Mr. Sha currently is Executive Chairman of Asia Power Corporation Limited, a company listed on Singapore Stock Exchange Main Board. Mr. Sha also sits in the Board of London Asia Capital PLC as nonexecutive director and chairs the Board of Rockstead Capital Private Limited, a boutique investment and fund management firm. In addition, Mr. Sha possesses many years of experience in company operating, fundraising and investment. In the course of his careers, he was appointed by various companies to oversee their operations. His past appointments saw him took up positions as, General Manager of Hainan Aisino Investment Co., Ltd and Heilongjiang Longdian Investment Co., Ltd, Deputy General Manager and subsequently General manager of Yangpu Tianhe Taifu Investment Co., Ltd, Chief Executive Officer of Hainan Bingang Real Estate Investment Co., Ltd, and Executive Director of Asia Water Technology Ltd. As of to-date, he no longer holds any executive roles in these companies. Mr. Sha holds double degrees in Economics and Literature from Heilongjiang University of Commerce and Harbin Normal University respectively.
Abdullah Bin Tarmugi Independent Director Mr Abdullah was appointed as an Independent Director of our Company on 20 June 2003. He is currently the Speaker of Parliament, Singapore, a position he has held since March 2002. Mr Abdullah started his career in the Ministry of National Development, working as an urban sociologist until 1971 and there after as a senior statistician and planning analyst until 1980. He subsequently joined the Straits Times as a leader, feature writer and associate news editor until 1984. From 1984 to 1993, he was the research manager of Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. Mr Abdullah has also been pursuing an active political career since 1984. He has been the Member of Parliament for Siglap (now within the East Coast Group Representatives Constituency) since 1984. He was the Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 1989 to 1993 and was also the Minister of State for the Ministry of Environment in 1993 and 1994. In 1994 and 1995, he also held the concurrent appointment of acting Minister of Community Development. In 1995, Mr Abdullah was appointed the Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Home Affairs. He assumed the position of Minister of Community Development and Sports from 1996 to March 2002 before his current appointment as Speaker of Parliament. He is also an Independent Director of the Islamic Bank of Asia Ltd. Mr Abdullah graduated in 1969 from the University of Singapore (now known as the National University of Singapore) with an honours degree in Social Science. He also holds a postgraduate diploma (merit) in Urban Studies from the University of London under the Commonwealth Scholarship in 1972.
He Jun Joseph Independent Director Joseph was appointed as an Independent Director of the Company on 28 December 2007. Joseph is a co-head of WongPartnership LLP in China Practice and a Partner of WongParnership LLP in both the Equity Capital Markets Practice and the Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. His main areas of practice are corporate finance, equity capital market, foreign investment in China, mergers and acquisitions and property development in China. Joseph is also an independent director of Asia Power Corporation Limited, a company listed on the SGX-ST. Joseph has been involved in many major transactions of foreign investments in the PRC. Joseph graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Yunnan University (PRC) and obtained Masters of Law from both China University of Politics and Law in Beijing and McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific (USA). He was also a Visiting Scholar at the School of Law, Columbia University (USA) from 1990 to 1991. Joseph was admitted to the Bar of the People’s Republic of China in 1994.
